Usually a cool rainy night makes for great weather to sleep. Except this one. It was a torrential downpour and the wind was blowing the rain in, so I had to shut the windows, which made the apartment rather stuffy. And now I was up and wide awake at 1:30am, staring out the windows I had just closed. It’s a cliche, but New York really is a city that never sleeps. I can look out the window at my neighbors across the back yards and there are always a few lights on, or the soft glow of a TV at any time of night. What keeps them up at night?
