East of Waterman, there is a subdivision of exactly two houses – one is vacant and for sale. It’s a perfect example of suburban development overreaching. It got started when things were going well. All the roads, street lights, and fire hydrants are in place and ready for houses. They may or may not ever come. Although they probably will eventually. Waterman is far from anything. Even Hinckley (pop. 2000) is six miles from here. Where do these people work? How far is their commute? What is the point of living out this way if you have to spend half your day in the car?
